I used to think I was pretty up to date with keeping myself looking and feeling young, I constantly strive to maintain clean eating habits, I take good care of my skin as often as a mom of 3 can, and I treat my self to a facial about once a month. I also take minerals, vitamins and oils to assist in my routine, and drink plenty of water. But when I found out my friend was getting Botox done I was shocked. I was only 27 at the time and she is younger than me... What is this world coming to? Are we supposed to stop looking as though we aged after 18? Then I started asking around and it felt as thought I was the ONLY one not doing it. I do...

I cannot stop wondering how many people do and or don’t read the labels of their daily essentials, the stuff they are in contact with before they are even fully awake... soap, shampoo, conditioners, tooth paste, toners, face cream, serums, lotions etc...  I for one cannot use anything before I dissect the label, and even after that I still wonder if there are any hidden ingredients. I took a walk through Shoppers Drug Mart today, I couldn’t believe the amount of people just grabbing the national brands Oil of Olay, Dove, Crest or my all time favourite (NOT) Johnson and Johnson. I cant understand how they don’t even flinch. Are they...

I have not used sunscreen on my kids for over 6 years now and the sunscreens that I did buy, I bought at a health food store. I started reading their ingredients and I stopped using sunscreens immediately. Now that doesn’t mean we never go anywhere or we stay inside on a sunny day. Our bodies need sunlight for more than one reason but that's a whole new blog. My kids aren’t super fare, but I cannot let them go out in the direct heat of the sun and expect that they will be okay. I found this article on sunscreens and I thought it was good!

Before I started using natural products, I really didn’t like the smell of Lavender. Now I realize it was the “fragrance” and chemically made smell of Lavender that I didn’t like and I actually quite enjoy the smell of Lavender Essential Oil. Plus it has so many great benefits and is very healing. When I researched exactly what Lavender was good for, I was shocked at how many health benefits it has. I could see why people referred to it as "the universal oil".

One thing that a lot of people forget for achieving healthy skin is drinking an adequate amount of water daily. Water is very important for the function of the organs in our body. It helps bodily functions including digestion, circulation and excretion to name a few. If we do not consume enough water daily, toxins build up in our bodies.

Many people go through each day mildly dehydrated and consuming far fewer fluids than they should. Water benefits your body in so many ways and drinking the recommended 8 glasses a day shouldn’t be forgotten.
